Matt Van Name, CFP®, CRPS®, AIF®

Matt serves as Corporate Retirement Plan Specialist at Colonial, specializing in Advisory and Consulting Services, including investment advice, retirement plan design, participant education and engagement, and ERISA compliance. He began working with corporate retirement plans in 2010 and holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist (CRPS®), and Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation. A native of Greenville, SC, and a graduate of Clemson University, Matt resides in Boiling Springs, SC, with his two kids.

Thomas S. Ledbetter, CFA

Thomas joined Colonial Trust in 2022, and previously worked as an Associate Investment Analyst for Wells Fargo Private Bank in Charlotte, NC. He is a graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor’s in Economics, and was awarded the CFA charter in October 2023. Thomas is originally from Greenville where he now lives with his wife, Ellison. His interests include running with his German Shorthaired Pointer, reading, and cooking.

Karen H. Longhurst, ATFA, CTFA

Karen Longhurst has over 25 years of experience in trust management and operations. Prior to joining Colonial Trust in 2007, Karen was with Boys, Arnold Trust Company in Asheville, North Carolina where she was the Administration and Operations Manager serving as a primary contact for personal trust and investment management accounts. Previously Karen worked as trust relationship manager for RBC Centura Bank in Asheville, N.C., where she worked with both personal and commercial trust clients. Karen received the Certified Trust Financial Advisor designation in 2003.

Ansley J. Mitcham

Ansley has an extensive professional background with nearly 20 years of experience in trust administration. She has worked alongside Hugh Graham at Southeastern Trust Company and BB&T, and most recently served as CFO and Trust Officer at Graham & Associates, LLC in Columbia (an affiliate of East Broad Trust Company). She earned a Bachelors of Science degree from USC.

Pamela G. McCauley

Pam came to Colonial Trust after having served the Probate Courts of South Carolina as a professional Guardian and Conservator. Pam works statewide administering our Special Needs Trusts and other trusts with challenging issues and circumstances. A native of Upstate New York, Pam graduated from the University of Connecticut and came to South Carolina in 1984. She lives in Greenville County.

Lorie L. Barton

Lorie is a native of Pauline, SC and has been with Colonial Group since 1991. She has performed a variety of duties since joining the firm. Lorie has worked extensively in both the trust and asset management departments. She is responsible for all trading activity, and she assists our Operations Manager.

Brittany E. Nethercutt

Brittany joined Colonial Trust in November 2024 as the Director of Family Office Services. She brings four years of public accounting experience from her role as an Accounting Advisory Senior at Elliott Davis, where she specialized in financial statement and transaction analysis for private companies and non-profit organizations. Brittany holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Clemson University. Originally from Columbia, SC, she now resides in Easley, SC, with her husband Matt and their daughter Ella.

P. Sterling Ivey III

Sterling Ivey, a native of Thomasville, GA, joined Colonial Trust as an Operations and Compliance Analyst in June 2024. With seven years of experience in operations and client support roles, Sterling previously worked at TNB Financial Services. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Presbyterian College and a Masters in Public Administration from Valdosta State University. Sterling has also attended Cannon Financial Institute and earned a Certificate in Financial Planning from the College for Financial Planning. Sterling serves on the board of Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County and enjoys watching baseball and fly fishing as well as spending time with his girlfriend Marianne and dog Charlie.
